      <r:Content xml:lang="sv">Materialet ingår i SND:s samling av Svenska Gallupinstitutets mätningar från 1942 till 1956. En samlad sida med mer information och möjlighet att söka, finns här: https://snd.gu.se/sv/gallup

Gallupundersökningarna ger en bra bild av det svenska opinionsläget under 40- och 50-talet, en intressant tid där krigstid och ransonering övergår till framtidstro och optimism. Totalt omfattar materialet cirka 550 frågeformulär och 500 bundna eller häftade rapporter, samt tillhörande dokumentation som t.ex. kodningsblankett och förlagor till pressmeddelanden. Mätningarna hade ofta olika uppdragsgivare som till exempel HSB, AB Volvo Göteborg och Dagens Nyheter. I rapporterna finns uppgifter som exempelvis syfte och urval. Resultatet är presenterat i tabellform uppdelat på kön, åldersgrupp, social grupptillhörighet och stad/landsbygd. I de tillhörande frågeformulären finns exakta frågeformuleringar.

Samlingen är en gåva till SND, med uppdrag om tillgängliggörande för det svenska forskarsamhället. Digitisering har skett genom finansiering av Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. Digitisering och efterbearbetning av de tryckta förlagorna har utförts av avdelningen för Digitala tjänster vid Göteborgs universitetsbibliotek.

The Gallup Institute surveys provide a good overview of the state of Swedish public opinion during the 1940s and 1950s, an interesting time where wartime and rationing gave way to hope and optimism. In total, the material includes approximately 550 questionnaires and 500 bound or stapled reports, as well as associated documentation such as coding forms and templates for press releases. The surveys were carried out for a variety of clients, including HSB, AB Volvo Göteborg and Dagens Nyheter. The reports contain information such as purpose and sample. The results are presented in tabular form divided by gender, age group, social group affiliation and urban/rural area. The accompanying questionnaires contain exact question formulations.

The collection was a gift to SND, with a view to making it available to the Swedish research community. Digitisation was made possible through funding from Riksbanken's Jubileumsfond. Digitisation and post-processing of the printed copies were carried out by Digital Services at the Gothenburg University Library.
