      <r:Content xml:lang="sv">Denna vallokalsundersökning genomfördes i anslutning till Europaparlamentsvalet den 9 juni 2024 av Sveriges Television i samarbete med forskare vid Gruppen för säkerhetsforskning, Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH), Stockholm och Statsvetenskapliga institutionen, Göteborgs universitet. Huvudsyftet med VALU 2024 EU var, liksom för tidigare VALU, att ge ett analysunderlag för den valvaka som sändes i Sveriges Television under valkvällen, samt för andra eftervalsanalyser.

Vallokalsundersökningar innebär att man frågar ett urval av väljare då de lämnar vallokalen vilket parti de röstat på, men också ett antal valsociologiska frågor. Undersökningsmetoden har med framgång använts i ett flertal länder för prognos- och analysändamål. Den första vallokalsundersökningen i Sverige genomfördes vid riksdagsvalet 1991. Liknande undersökningar har sedan dess genomförts i samband med samtliga riksdagsval, folkomröstningar och val till Europaparlamentet. 

Totala antalet svarsenkäter i VALU 2024 EU var 11 565. Samtliga låg till grund för analyserna under valvakan. Svarsfrekvensen bedömdes totalt till cirka 70 procent. 

Utgående från VALU 2024 EU beräknades med hjälp av viktning en prognos för slutresultatet av Europaparlamentsvalet 2024. Prognosen, publicerad av SVT klockan 20:00 på valkvällen, redovisas tillsammans med valmyndighetens officiella slutliga röstsammanräkning i en tabell i dokumentet VALU24 Bakgrund.</r:Content>
      <r:Content xml:lang="en">This exit poll survey was carried out in connection with the European parliament election 9 June 2024 by Sveriges Television (SVT) in collaboration with researchers at the Division of Safety Research, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm and the Department of Political Science, University of Gothenburg. The main purpose of VALU 2024 EU was, as for previous exit polls, to provide analytical support for the election night broadcast on Swedish television during the election night, as well as for other post-election analyses.

In VALU - Swedish exit poll surveys - voters leaving polling stations are asked by public service broadcaster Sveriges Television to fill in a questionnaire and put it anonymously in a sealed box. After collecting and processing the responses, Sveriges Television can present an election forecast and an analysis of the reasons underlying the outcome of the election in its election night broadcast. The surveys are referred to as VALU, an abbreviation for vallokalsundersökning, Swedish for exit poll survey. The first exit poll survey in Sweden was carried out at the parliamentary election in 1991. Since then, similar studies have been carried out in connection with all parliamentary elections, referendums, and elections to the European Parliament.</r:Content>
