      <r:Content xml:lang="sv">NVK skog har tagits fram genom så kallad maskininlärning (Artificiell Intelligens) som en del av ett forskningsprojekt finansierat av Naturvårdsverket. NVK skog bygger på en modellering av ett stort antal biofysiska och socio-ekonomiska variabler, inklusive förekomsten av kända värdekärnor i skog, och tillhandahåller en heltäckande skattning av den relativa sannolikheten att enskilda hektarsytor (100x100 m), dominerade av skog (≥50%), utgör skoglig värdekärna. Sannolikhetsskattningen är kontinuerlig från 100% till 0% (1 till 0). NVK skog kan därmed ses som ett första steg för att identifiera områden som är i behov av områdesskydd, skötsel, och restaurering samt för utökad hänsyn vid skogsbruksåtgärder. NVK skog är primärt ett geografiskt planeringsunderlag och inte en beskrivning av absoluta naturvärden i enskilda skogsbestånd. NVK skog kan också, på omvänt sätt, användas för att identifiera områden där fortsatt skogsbruk sannolikt kan bedrivas utan större konflikter med befintliga naturvärden.</r:Content>
      <r:Content xml:lang="en">HCVFSw has been developed through a machine learning algorithm (Random Forest Classifier) as a part of a research project financed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. It is based on a large set of biophysical and socio-economic variables, including known occurrences of high conservation values forests (HCVF) and provides a wall-to-wall prediction of the relative likelihood that single hectares (100x100 m), dominated by forest (≥50%), constitute HCVF. The predictions are continuous from 100% to 0% (1 to 0). HCVFSw can therefore be regarded as a first step towards identifying areas that are in need of protection, conservation management and restoration as well for increased environmental concern during forestry operations. HCVFSw is primarily aimed for geographical planning and not a description of actual natural values in singel forest stands. HCVFSw may also be used to identify areas where forestry can continue without major conflicts with existing natural values</r:Content>
