This dataset includes both the raw field data collected during the study and processed dataframes for modeling, along with the corresponding R script used in the research article. The research investigates various regeneration methods in pine stands—planting, direct seeding, and natural regeneration—under different site preparation treatments (mechanical site preparation or no preparation). The variables examined include height, survival proportion, seed germination, seedling recruitment, and growth. Additionally, the study explores how different retention levels in forestry affect these same regeneration variables, while considering the potential impact of browsing.

Retention levels were further assessed in relation to the crown cover of living trees within a 20-meter radius around the regeneration plots to evaluate how varying retention scenarios influence regeneration success.

The data are provided in TSV format, which can be read and processed using standard data analysis tools. For information on data file dimension, see metadata file. The included R script facilitates the application of statistical models to the processed data. No specialized software beyond R is required for analysis, although familiarity with R and basic statistical modeling techniques will be beneficial for those wishing to reuse the dataset.
