        <serInfo xml:lang="en">The aim of the Scania Metadatabase for Epidemiology (SME) was to invent and create a catalogue that describes epidemiological studies collected within Lund University and Region Skåne. The project was initiated by Kristina Jakobsson (Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Region Skåne, Lund), Jonas Björk (assistant coordinator of the national, interdisciplinary research project SIMSAM Lund) and Peter Nilsson (coordinator of SFO EpiHealth). The study inventory have been conducted by the R&amp;D-centre in Scania and BBMRI.se in close cooperation with the Swedish National Data Service (SND).

SME was initiated in the autumn of 2012 and it currently comprises information about 50 studies, including a total of just over 680,000 study participants as well as biological samples from more than 217 000 individuals.</serInfo>
        <serInfo xml:lang="sv">Skånes metadatabas för epidemiologi (SME) initierades under hösten 2012 med syftet att skapa en katalog med översiktliga beskrivningar av en del av de epidemiologiska studier som genomförts i Lunds universitets eller Region Skånes regi genom åren. Projektet initierades av Kristina Jakobsson (avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin vid institutionen för laboratoriemedicin, Region Skåne, Lund), Jonas Björk (biträdande koordinator för det nationella, tvärvetenskapliga forskningsprojektet SIMSAM Lund) samt Peter Nilsson (koordinator för SFO EpiHealth). Studieinventeringen har genomförs av FoU-centrum Skåne och BBMRI i nära samarbete med Svensk Nationell Datatjänst (SND).

SME omfattar i dagsläget omkring 50 studier med sammanlagt fler än ca 680 000 studiedeltagare, samt biologiska prover från drygt 217 000 individer. Studierna som finns representerade är allt från regionala hälsoundersökningar och folkhälsoenkäter till kohortstudier av specifika yrkesgrupper. Förhoppningen är att SME ska kunna fungera som en kontaktyta mellan forskare med gemensamma beröringspunkter, exempelvis intresse för samma exponeringar, sjukdomsutfall, biologiska markörer, åldersgrupper eller socioekonomiska faktorer – det handlar således om att skapa möjligheter att nyttja redan insamlade data, också på ett tids- och resurseffektivt sätt.

Alla studier som ingår i samlingen har det unika nyckelordet epiHealth_Skåne och kan sökas fram genom att ange sökordet i SNDs sökssytem.</serInfo>

      <abstract xml:lang="en" contentType="abstract">Information about diabetes diagnosis, hypertension and atrial fibrillation, smoking and physical inactivity were collected  via postal survey. This information were afterwards completed with information about first case of ischemic stroke from Riks-Stroke (national quality registry for acute stroke) or the Lund stroke registry, demographic registrydata (education, year of birth, sex, marital status and country of birth) and individual exposure for air pollution through geo-coding by home address  connected to a coordinated set emission database.

Purpose:

To study short- and long term effects by air-pollutants on stroke and myocardial infarction in Scania

Survey responses are also available for 4700 controls living in Scania and matched on year of birth and sex.</abstract>
      <abstract xml:lang="sv" contentType="abstract">Information om läkardiagnosticerad diabetes, hypertoni och arteriell fibrillering, rökning och fysisk inaktivitet samlades in via postenkät. Denna information kompletterades därefter med uppgifter om första fall av ischemisk stroke från Riks-Stroke (nationellt kvalitetsregister för akut stroke) eller Lunds strokeregister, demografisk registerdata (utbildning, födelseår, kön, civilstånd och födelseland) samt individuell exponering för luftföroreningar via geokodning av bostadsadress kopplat till en koordinatsatt emissionsdatabas.

Syfte:

Att studera kort- och långtidseffekter av luftföroreningar på stroke och hjärtinfarkt i Skåne
