      <r:Content xml:lang="sv">Sedan 1988 har individer som drabbats av melanom i södra Sverige intervjuats och kohorten består nu av 3000 fall. Till varje fall har två kontroller slumpvis valts ut från det skånska populationsregistret och matchats för kön, ålder och hemort. Samma frågor har sänts även till kontrollerna. Frågorna berör bl. a. tidigare sjukdomar, medicinering, exponering för UV-ljus, alkohol, rökning, användning av preventivmedel och utbildning. Alla patienter med familjär melanom har analyserats för en CDKN2A-mutation. Under åren 1995-96 samlades blod in från alla patienter, men utöver det så har blod endast samlats in från fall med familjärt melanom, fall under 40 år samt fall med flera stycken melanom. Studien pågår fortfarande.

Syfte:

Syftet med studien är att skapa en kohort med patienter med melanom samt kontroller för att kunna studera riskfaktorer för sjukdomen.</r:Content>
      <r:Content xml:lang="en">Since 1988, individuals affected by melanoma in Southern Sweden has been interviewed and the cohort now consists of 3000 cases. For each case, two controls are randomly selected from the Skåne population registry and matched for sex, age and place of residence. The same questions have been sent also to the controls. These questions concern, among others, past illnesses, medication, exposure to UV light, alcohol, smoking, use of oral contraceptivesion and education. All patients with familial melanoma have been analyzed for a CDKN2A mutation. During 1995-96 blood was collected from all patients, but beyond that they have only blood collected from cases with familiar melanoma, cases aged under 40 and cases with multiple melanoma. The study is still ongoing.

Purpose:

The aim of the study is to create a cohort of patients with melanoma and controls to study risk factors for the disease.</r:Content>
