      <r:Content xml:lang="sv">Kontaktallergier mot parfymer ser ut att gå mot en ökande trend och det finns endast begränsad information om dessa allergier hos den allmänna befolkningen. EDEN-kohorten är en del av ett europeiskt samarbete och undersökningen har utförts i fem olika länder (Sverige, Italien, Tyskland, Nederländerna och Portugal) från augusti 2008 till oktober 2011. 
Totalt har mer än 12 000 personer från dessa fem länder fått svara på frågor och ca 3000 av dessa har även lapptestats olika parfymliknande ämnen. Från Sverige deltog 2069 individer. Frågorna berörde områden som yrke, rökning, antropometriska data, tidigare erfarenheter av utslag, tidigare reaktioner mot olika produkter som innehåller parfymer, t.ex. hudkrämer, deodoranter, smink, tvättmedel m.fl. eller om man tidigare har undvikit dessa produkter p.g.a. hudproblem.

Syfte:

Att bestämma förekomst och svårighetsgrad av kontaktallergi mot dofter och andra sensibilisatorer i den allmänna befolkningen i Europa.

      <r:Content xml:lang="en">Contact allergy to fragrances appears to be increasing and data on allergy in the general population are limited. The EDEN cohort is a multinational study that involves several areas in five European countries (Sweden, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands and Portugal). The study was conducted during August 2008 to October 2011.

In total 12 000 individuals from these five countries was interviewed and about 3000 of these also underwent a patch test for different fragrance allergens. From Sweden 2069 individuals participated. The questionnaire contained questions concerning occupation, smoking, anthropometric data, previous experience with skin rash, and any history of reactions to products that may contain the sensitizer and/or a history of avoidance of the same products (e.g. skin lotions, deodorants, make-up and laundry detergent).

Purpose:

To determine the prevalence and severity of contact allergy to fragrances and other sensitizers in the general population in Europe
