The programme is run by the four County Administrative Boards (Länsstyrelsen) of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Gävleborg. The programme was developed in 2009-2010, and its purpose is to register the presence and population sizes of breeding bird species characteristic of coastal and archipelagic areas in the Gulf of Bothnia, thus enabling changes of these to be monitored. The work is carried out in collaboration with, and is supported by, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The surveys are carried out by employees at the County Administrative Boards as well as hired consultants and experienced ornithologists. In this dataset, some information is placed in the table ExtendedMeasurementOrFacts (eMoF), which is part of the Source Archive available to download directly from the dataset’s page here on gbif.org. The Source Archive contains the data exactly as uploaded to gbif (verbatim). Should you choose to download the dataset as GBIF Annotated Archive instead, the data has been interpreted and quality controlled by gbif, but, the data in the eMoF will not be included as the eMoF extension is not yet supported by gbif.
