The collections contain several million specimens and new material are digitized continuously. It includes mostly Swedish specimens but also material collected in other parts of the world. A large part of the Swedish material comes from the museum's ”Terrestrial invertebrate faunistic research program”, which was carried out from the 1920s until 1981.
