      <abstract xml:lang="en" contentType="abstract">The dataset represents the reference collection for pollen and spores at the Swedish Museum of Natural History (NRM), whose physical collection was is managed with herbarium specimens on behalf of the NRM Palynological Lab. The physical collections cover liquid and dry material in envelopes, which are primarily derived from collection objects already accessioned into the NRM herbarium. The remaining material pollen/spores are from specimens not found in the NRM herbarium. Each preparation has notes, which can also consist of sketches and illustrations, o or some preparations, photographs and negatives. Historical data associated with these preparations has been recorded on index cards whereas modern information about material may include LM, SEM and TEM images.</abstract>
