Data for: A Digital Twin for supporting decision-making and stakeholder collaboration in urban decarbonization processes. A participatory development in Gothenburg.

The dataset contains questionnaire survey data from the evaluation of a Digital Twin Viewer (CDTE) for the city of Gothenburg. The questionnaire collects background information about the users and their familiarity with digital twins or other digital tools, their evaluation of the usability and usefulness of the City Digital Twin and general reflections on the characteristics and the maintenance of the viewer platform.

Data is collected through two assessment workshops: First, a workshop with 22 stakeholders representing the city energy provider, the planning and environmental department of the municipality, property companies both municipal and private, and researchers; and second, a workshop with 70 master students with a background in architecture and urban planning as part of a course on sustainable development and stakeholder engagement.

Dataset - Self-Heating of Biochar during Postproduction Storage by O₂ Chemisorption at Low Temperatures

Biochar is attracting attention as an alternative carbon/fuel source to coal in the process industry and energy sector. However, it is prone to self-heating and often leads to spontaneous ignition and thermal runaway during storage, resulting in production loss and health risks. This study investigates biochar self-heating upon its contact with O₂ at low temperatures, i.e., 50–300 °C. First, kinetic parameters of O₂ adsorption and CO₂ release were measured in a thermogravimetric analyzer using biochar produced from a pilot-scale pyrolysis process. Then, specific heat capacity and heat of reactions were measured in a differential scanning calorimeter. Finally, a one-dimensional transient model was developed to simulate self-heating in containers and gain insight into the influences of major parameters. The model showed a good agreement with experimental measurement in a closed metal container. It was observed that char temperature slowly increased from the initial temperature due to heat released during O₂ adsorption. Thermal runaway, i.e., self-ignition, was observed in some cases even at the initial biochar temperature of ca. 200 °C. However, if O₂ is not permeable through the container materials, the temperature starts decreasing after the consumption of O₂ in the container. The simulation model was also applied to examine important factors related to self-heating. The results suggested that self-heating can be somewhat mitigated by decreasing the void fraction, reducing storage volume, and lowering the initial char temperature. This study demonstrated a robust way to estimate the cooling demands required in the biochar production process.

Data from Geant4 calculations of average gamma heating from selected cases of used light water reactor nuclear fuel assemblies in a KBS-3 type deep geological repository

Monte Carlo calculations, using the Geant4 framework version 10.02 [1], of energy deposition from gamma radiation emitted from light water reator fuel assemblies in a KBS-3 type deep geological repository for used nuclear fuel has been performed. Selected cases of boiling and pressurized reactor fuel assemblies from the "SKB-50" set of fuel assemblies were used; "BWR1", "BWR6" and "PWR8" [2]. An isotropic source of gamma-rays with energies of 444, 662, 723 and 1274 keV, depending of the case, were distributed homogeneously in the intersection of a (mid-)plane perpendicular to the canister central axis with all the fuel rods in all fuel assemblies in the canister. The average energy deposition in a 3-dimensional (x,y,z) mesh with 1 cm resolution was calculated per emitted gamma particle. This dataset contains the resulting meshed energy deposition data.

Description of files:
- The gzip compressed tar file contains comma-separated-values (CSV) files with the data "mesh x position [cm], mesh y position [cm], mesh z position [cm], average energy deposition per emitted gamma [MeV]" supplied on each row. The name of the CSV file specifies the fuel assembly id from the SKB-50 set of fuel assemblies as well as the energy of the emitted gamma radiation.
- The txt-file contains the SHA-256 checksum of the gzip compressed tar file.

Rural Energy and Household Forest Values under Varying Management Regimes 2009.

The study on Rural Energy and Household Forest Values under Varying Management Regimes was conducted in Ethiopia. The general objective of this survey is to study household behavior regarding sustainable land use. Households were selected from the main four regions of Ethiopia (Amhara, Oromia, SNNP, and Tigray) in 2009. The data was generated by researchers at the Ethiopian Development Research Institute and Gothenburg University.

All the datasets are in Stata format. Each data file attached consists of datasets of each section in the questionnaire.

Results from Geant4 calculations of energy deposition from gamma- and neutron radiation emitted from selected cases of used boiling water reactor nuclear fuel assemblies in a KBS-3 type deep geological repository

Monte Carlo calculations, using the Geant4 framework version 10.02, of energy deposition from gamma- and neutron radiation emitted from boiling water reator (BWR) fuel assemblies in a KBS-3 type deep geological repository for used nuclear fuel have been performed. This dataset contains the results of the calculations. Three fuel rods were arbitrarily selected as source rods for 662 keV and 2.75 MeV gamma- and neutron radiation, respectively. For each of the six cases, the energy deposited in a 3-dimensional (x,y,z) mesh with 1 cm resolution was calculated and tallied as function of the type of particle that deposited the energy.

See README-file for details about each datafile.
