Data for: Diversity and composition of the seed-associated mycobiome of silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) in Sweden

The data contain information on fungi associated with silver birch seeds in Sweden, obtained using two fungal identification methods: culture-based isolation and high-throughput amplicon sequencing.

The file "Traditional_culturing_data.tsv.txt" (140 rows × 11 columns) contains raw counts of fungi cultured from each seed type (empty and filled) and location, together with their identification at the genus and species level.

The file "Amplicon_sequencing_data.tsv.txt" (804 rows × 22 columns) contains amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) together with read counts for each sample (e.g., the sample name "EkE" stands for Ekebo (location), and E stands for empty seeds), along with their taxonomic identification.
