Data and instrument reports from Poussin's Bacchus-Apollo aquired during a workshop held at the Natonal Museum on the 29th September 2025 (Diarienummer RAÄ-2026-1405) including aquisition parameters. Data from the following analytical techniques is included: 1. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (MA-XRF; Bruker Crono scanning XRF); 2. X-ray radiography (X-ray; Eresco 42 MF4 (tube), GE CRxFlex (scanner)). The purpose of the workshop was to demonstrate the techniques while investigating and revealing the underlying composition of the oil painting by Nicolas Poussin (accession number: NM2669, link: https://collection.nationalmuseum.se/en/collection/item/19729/).

Data from the project "Drawings by Johan Tobias Sergel at Nationalmuseum", RAÄ-2023-2835

Data from the project "Drawings by Johan Tobias Sergel at Nationalmuseum" (Diarienummer RAÄ-2023-2835) including instrument reports with instrument conditions and smapling information. Data from the following analytical techniques is included: 1. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF; data from a Bruker Artax u-XRF and Bruker Crono MA-XRF); 2. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The purpose of the project was to better understand the composition of Hetsigt Kärlekspar, a drawing by Johan Tobias Sergel (https://collection.nationalmuseum.se/en/collection/item/71030/), particularly the ink and the residual adhesive from the lining, which could perhaps lead to a better understanding of the fragile nature of the drawing and its deterioration processes.

The following collection objects were analyzed in this project:

Data and reports for project 'Under stilleben: Material analysis of a portrait miniature at Nationalmuseum', RAÄ-2022-2572

Data from the project 'Under stilleben: Material analysis of a portrait miniature at Nationalmuseum' (Diarienummer RAÄ-2022-2572). Data from the following analytical techniques is included: 1. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR); 2. Raman spectroscopy; 3. Reflectance transformation imaging (RTI). Also included are instrument reports which compile the data, provide the measurement parameters and describe the samples/measurement areas for each technique. The intention of the project was to aid in conservation treatment decisions of a portrait miniature in Nationalmuseum's collection (Blomsterstilleben by Anne Vallayer-Coster, inventory number NMB 2667, https://collection.nationalmuseum.se/sv/collection/item/174329/) by using FTIR to identify the adhesive used to adhere the canvas painting to a glass cover, Raman spectrscopy to identify the presence of formate glass deterioration products, and RTI to observe the topography of the painting under the glass cover.

Data for project "Cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver objects", RAÄ-2021-3131

Data from the project "Cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver objects" (RAÄ-2021-3131). Each zip file contains an Instrument report file which gives sample names and descriptions, instrument parameters, spectra figures and in some report interpretation notes. Data from the following analytical techniques is included: 1. Scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS); 2. Polarized light microscopy (PLM); 3. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Data was collected as a continuation of (but after the publication of) the bachelor theses "A greener solution: Investigating the potential use of Green Solvents to remove cellulose nitrate lacquer from silver objects" by Evelina Borén (https://hdl.handle.net/2077/72648) and "The use of gels for the removal of cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver" by Katayon Miri (https://hdl.handle.net/2077/72650), both at the Department for Conservation, University of Gothenburg. The project is also part of a larger invesitgation about removing cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver objects, supported by European Union funded IPERION HS project (2020-INFRAIA-2019-1).

Instrument reports including technical specifications of each instrument can also be found under DOI 10.5281/zenodo.10869595 .
