      <title>Data for: Fibroblast-driven collagen expansion and altered thymic medullary niches in 22q11.2 deletion syndrome</title>
      <description>The aim of the study was to identify spatial transcriptomic and proteomic differences between thymic tissue from patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome and controls. Thymic tissue from two patients with 22q11DS and eight controls were subject to spatial transcriptomics and proteomics using Visium and Phenocycler methodologies, respectively.

The dataset contains data from the manuscript "Fibroblast-driven collagen expansion and altered thymic medullary niches in 22q11.2 deletion syndrome" by Hennings et al, which was submitted for publication in February 2026.</description>

      <title>NorthPop: a prospective population-based birth cohort study</title>
      <description>NorthPop is a research infrastructure at Region Västerbotten and Umeå University. It consists of a database and biobank containing extensive population-based, longitudinal data. These are collected from 30 000 individuals, which include 10 000 children and also their parents, who are 32 years of age on average at time of delivery.

Region Västerbotten and Umeå University have a successful tradition of research based on databases and biobanks, but previously they were almost entirely focused on middle-aged and older individuals, or specific diseases. There is a great need for of a population-based infrastructure with a biobank for children and young adults, as the majority of our lifestyle-related diseases and behaviors are established early in life. Children and young adults account for 50% (130 000 individuals) of the population in Västerbotten. NorthPop therefore perfectly complements  the Västerbotten Health Surveys (VHU), which cover the ages of 40 years and older, enabling completely new multi-generational research projects.

Data collection consists of:
1. Questionnaires: During pregnancy, three questionnaires are answered by the each parent. A series of questionnaires are then sent out when the child is 4 months, 9 months, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years and 7 years old.

2. Samples: Biological samples are collected from the women during pregnancy, in gestational weeks 14-24, around gestational week 28, and 1 month postpartum. The children are sampled at birth, 48 hours postpartum, at 1, 9, 18 months as well as 3 and 7 years of age. Meconium, feces, oral swabs and breast milk are sampled either by the parents at home or at the hospital.
- Urine: A 10 mL urine sample is collected from the mothers at the routine ultrasound examination, in gestational weeks 14-24.
- Blood: Venous blood samples from the women at gestational week 28, at birth from the umbilical cord and from the children at 18 months and 7 years of age.
- Meconium.
Oral swabs: Parents collect oral swabs from the children at 48 hours postpartum, 1, 9, 18 months and at 3 and 7 years of age. 
- Feces: The parents collect fecal samples at home, at 1, 9, 18 months and at 3 and 7 years of age. 
- Breast milk: When the infant is 1 month old, breast milk is sampled at home at the first feeding in the morning. 


3. Additional Measurements 
Actigraphy (Physical activity, light exposure, and sleep patterns) in a sub-cohort at 3 and 7 years of age. 
At age 7: Blood pressure, pulse, skin prick test, hand grip strength, height, weight, working memory.

      <title>Data for "Hypergammaglobulinemia in treated and untreated people with HIV"</title>
      <description>This dataset contains pseudo-anonymized information on sex, age and blood samples (n = 821), of which 750 samples are from 584 adult (age ≥ 18 years) persons with HIV (PWH) and 71 from HIV-negative controls. 
The blood samples from the PWH were collected in a standardized manner during outpatient clinic visits as part of "the Gothenburg HIV CSF Study Cohort" at the Department of Infectious Diseases, at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. Data became available at the time of sample collection and were compiled for analysis between 13/11/1985 and 14/03/2023.

The samples from the HIV-positive participants were categorized according to eight categories representing immunologically different stages of HIV infection: primary HIV infection (PHI; within 12 months of initial HIV infection), five groups characterized by CD4+ T cell counts (≥ 500; 350−499; 200−349, 50−199 and &lt; 50 cells/μL), ongoing infection or malignancy (OIM), and those on ART. 
The diagnosis of PHI was based on a combination of clinical histories and seroconversion, nucleic acid testing or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) testing. OIM was defined as the presence of an opportunistic or non-opportunistic bacterial, viral or parasitic infection or active cancer in association with or within two weeks of blood sampling. ART suppression was defined as ongoing ART with plasma HIV-RNA &lt; 50 copies/mL for ≥ 6 months and included antiretroviral regimens with two or more active agents (non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, integrase inhibitors and/or protease inhibitors) according to guidelines existing at the time of inclusion.

The HIV-negative control group (n = 71) consisted of 44 individuals receiving HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF)/emtricitabine (FTC) and 27 volunteers (healthcare workers, students and their relatives) without PrEP.

The blood samples were analyzed for IgG, neopterin, β2-microglobulin, albumin, HIV-RNA, CD4+, and CD4+ nadir. Additionally, information on antiretroviral therapy, the duration of viral suppression as well as hepatitis C status are provided. Data on hepatitis C status were extracted from the Swedish InfCareHIV cohort.</description>
