      <title>GIS-material for the archaeological project: RAÄ 9 and 49 - Skänninge 9, 49</title>

At the field evaluation of RAÄ 9  traces of settlement were found at two locations. The southern area contained several features. The macro fossil analysis indicated that these were from the Neolithic and Iron Age, which was also supported by a radiocarbon dating to the Late Neolithic and the Roman Iron Age. The northern area did however appear to be of a late/modern character. The field evaluation of RAÄ 49 found coherent settlement traces at two sites. One site consisted of a limited cultural layer and a few features in form of hearths. This settlement has been 14C-dated to the Pre-Roman Iron Age. The settlement's extent in the investigation area is severely limited, and it can be assumed that it continues to the east, outside the investigation area. The second site consisted of featues in form of hearths and post holes. Remains of a presumed three-aisled building from the Late Vendel - early Viking period were found. Radiocarbon dating shows that settlement activities occurred at the site at different periods: Late Mesolithic, Middle Neolithic, Late Neolithic, Roman Iron Age and the early Vendel Period - late Viking period.

The National Road 32 between Mjölby and Motala is to be widened and to get a partially new route and a new name (National Road 50). At Lövingsborg, within the property Sunnanå 2:6, just south of Skänninge town, the widening will run over the archaeological sites RAÄ 9 and RAÄ 49 in Skänninge parish. For this reason Arkeologikonsult undertook two archaeological field evaluations of the respective site according to the County Administrative Board of Östergötland´s decision during spring 2009.

The ZIP file consist of GIS files and an Access database with information about the excavations, findings and other metadata about the archaeological survey.</description>

      <title>Rotational Thromboelastometry predicts care level in COVID-19</title>
      <description>The objective of the study was to test whether Rotational Thromboelastometry (ROTEM) indicate hypercoagulopathy at hospitalization of COVID-19 patients, and whether patients with severe disease have a more pronounced hypercoagulopathy compared with less severely ill patients. 

The study was designed as a prospective observational study where COVID-19 positive patients over 18 years admitted to Capio St Göran’s Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, were eligible for inclusion. Patients were divided into two groups depending on care level: 1) regular wards (40 patients) or 2) wards with specialized ventilation support (20 patients). ROTEM and other coagulation tests (see table for a list and explanation of variables) was taken after admission and the data were compared with ROTEM in healthy controls.

Conclusion
ROTEM variables (EXTEM-MCF, FIBTEM-MCF, EXTEM-CT, EXTEM-CFT) were significantly different in COVID-19 patients early after admission compared with healthy controls. This pattern was more pronounced in patients with increased disease severity, suggesting that ROTEM-analysis could be a potentially useful predictor of thromboembolic complications and mortality in these patients.

      <title>News articles and front pages from 19 Swedish news sites during the covid-19/corona pandemic 2020–2021</title>
      <description>This dataset contains news articles from Swedish news sites during the covid-19 corona pandemic 2020–2021. The purpose was to develop and test new methods for collection and analyses of large news corpora by computational means. In total, there are 677,151 articles collected from 19 news sites during 2020-01-01 to 2021-04-26. The articles were collected by scraping all links on the homepages and main sections of each site every two hours, day and night.

The dataset also includes about 45 million timestamps at which the articles were present on the front pages (homepages and main sections of each news site, such as domestic news, sports, editorials, etc.). This allows for detailed analysis of what articles any reader likely was exposed to when visiting a news site. The time resolution is (as stated previously) two hours, meaning that you can detect changes in which articles were on the front pages every two hours. 

The 19 news sites are aftonbladet.se, arbetet.se, da.se, di.se, dn.se, etc.se, expressen.se, feministisktperspektiv.se, friatider.se, gp.se, nyatider.se, nyheteridag.se, samnytt.se, samtiden.nu, svd.se, sverigesradio.se, svt.se, sydsvenskan.se and vlt.se.

Due to copyright, the full text is not available but instead transformed into a document-term matrix (in long format) which contains the frequency of all words for each article (in total, 80 million words). Each article also includes extensive metadata that was extracted from the articles themselves (URL, document title, article heading, author, publish date, edit date, language, section, tags, category) and metadata that was inferred by simple heuristic algorithms (page type, article genre, paywall).

The dataset consists of the following:
article_metadata.csv (53 MB): The file contains information about each news article, one article per row. In total, there are 677,151 observations and 17 variables.

article_text.csv (236 MB): The file contains the id of each news article and how many times (count) a specific word occurs in the news article. The file contains 80,090,784 observations and 3 variables in long format.

frontpage_timestamps.csv (175 MB): The file contains when each news article was found on the front page (homepage and main sections) of the news sites. The file contains 45,337,740 observations and 4 variables in long format.

      <title>Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Forest Resource Use by Rural Communities in India</title>
      <description>Description:

This project, “Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Forest Resource Use by Rural Communities in India” aims to study the role of forest plantations as a safety net for rural households facing distress during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data was collected in 2021-22.

The data includes:

- Village information on demographics and resource governance
- Household information on demographics, livelihoods, impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and forest use and management
- Information on forest plantations, including species and management 


Data structure:

This dataset contains 720 households nested within 24 local governmental units (panchayats) in the Kangra District of India’s northern state of Himachal Pradesh. 

This data builds a panel dataset with previously collected data in 2018, “Impacts of Afforestation on Sustainable Rural Livelihoods in India”, which is publicly available here: https://conservancy.umn.edu/handle/11299/220402 . 

The data from 2018 included 2400 households nested within 60 panchayats (40 households per panchayat). The current dataset has selected 24 panchayats from the previous study, and randomly selected 30 households from the original sample in each panchayat to resurvey in 2021-22. 

The panel dataset thus enables comparison of forest use patterns before the pandemic (2018) with forest use during/after pandemic disruptions (2021-22) for 720 households. 

At present, we post the raw, unprocessed data. We have removed all person names to protect identity of surveyed households. The documentation files include full information about variables collected.</description>
