Data to the paper "Effect of targeted acetylation on wood-water interactions at high moisture states"

The data set include data from Low Field Nuclear Magnestic Resonance (LFNMR) measurements and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements for different types of acetylated wood (Norway spruce) conditioned at several moisture levels in the over-hygroscopic moisture range. Cell wall moisture contents and capillary water moisture contents were evaluated from the data. The data set and the content of the different files are further described in the document "readme.txt".

Data (images) for: New barcodes of freshwater diatoms from Sweden

The published data are images of freshwater diatoms, taken within the national barcoding project FRESHBAR (2019-2023), a research project focusing on the development of DNA methods for national environmental monitoring. The project was financed by the Environmental Protection Agency’s environmental research grant in collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management. The aim of the project was to establish as many diatom cultures as possible, to generate their barcodes, to identify them to the lowest taxonomical level possible, and to make all results, data and material publicly available for further research and usage within environmental monitoring. FRESHBAR represents the first large-scale effort to generate barcode reference sequences for Nordic freshwater benthic diatoms. The images are part of the results. Images of living and prepared strains are stored with open access (license: CC0) in the e-archive of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), available under the permanent link https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12703/6968. Images are stored in different subfolders, grouped by taxon. Information on storage is found when searching in the menu “By subject”, where the metadata are found under “FRESHBAR images” in the file “FRESHBAR picture images SLU archive.xlsx”. Images taken with LM are stored in the subfolder https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12703/6822, SEM images in the subfolder https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12703/6823. Metadata are stored in the subfolder https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12703/6825. In order to find a specific image item, you can locate the handle in the provided mapfiles.txt, and then go to https://hdl.handle.net/[handle], e.g. for https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12703/6885 for SEM 1C11.

QoG OECD Dataset

The QoG Institute is an independent research institute within the Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg. The main objective of our research is to address the theoretical and empirical problem of how political institutions of high quality can be created and maintained.

To achieve said goal, the QoG Institute makes comparative data on QoG and its correlates publicly available. To accomplish this, we have compiled several datasets that draw on a number of freely available data sources, including aggregated individual-level data.

The QoG OECD Datasets focus exclusively on OECD member countries. They have a high data coverage in terms of geography and time.
In the QoG OECD TS dataset, data from 1946 to 2021 is included and the unit of analysis is country-year (e.g., Sweden-1946, Sweden-1947, etc.).

In the QoG OECD Cross-Section dataset, data from and around 2018 is included. Data from 2018 is prioritized, however, if no data are available for a country for 2018, data for 2019 is included. If no data for 2019 exists, data for 2017 is included, and so on up to a maximum of +/- 3 years. In the QoG OECD Time-Series dataset, data from 1946 to 2021 are included and the unit of analysis is country-year (e.g. Sweden-1946, Sweden-1947 and so on).

SLU Forage Availability Maps

This dataset contains the SLU Forage Availability Map.
This dataset contains 12 maps, distributed as .tif files.

They show the predicted abundance of the pine (Pinus sylvestris), rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), oak (Quercus spp.), willow (Salix caprea), aspen (Populus tremula) and birch (Betula spp.) trees from 10 cm height to 4 cm diameter at breast height across the country using data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory and remote sensing datasets. Map products are aggregated to a 1ha and a 1km2 scale and show the average amount of trees estimated per spatial unit.

For more information on the development of this dataset, please see the article:
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jag.2025.104850

For access to the 10x10m maps, contact the authors.

Harvests in Sweden before the agrarian revolution

Grain tithe (Swe: Spannmålstiondet) has often been used as an indicator of crop development. It was a tax based in the principle of one-tenth of the harvest. This database is based on the accounts of the Crown's share of the tithe for Sweden in present-day borders excluding Scania. The databases relate to the period from and including 1665, when the volume measures were uniform in the country, until the tithe was a fixed tax without further linked to harvests. The transition to the tenth occurred successively in different provinces and was essentially completed by the mid-1700s.
