      <title>Mediebarometern 2023</title>
      <description>Mediebarometern har genomförts varje år sedan 1979. Till och med 2018 samlades svaren in via telefon. Sedan 2019 bygger resultaten på svar insamlade via en kombinerad webb- och telefonundersökning. Fram till och med 2019 avsåg resultaten befolkningen mellan 9 och 79 år. Från och med 2020 bygger resultaten på data som avser befolkningen mellan 9 och 85 år.

Tanken med Mediebarometern var redan från starten att långsiktigt följa mediepubliken. Den ansats som val­des för Mediebarometern är mediers faktiska räckvidd. Undersökningen avser således inte människors regel­bundna medievanor, utan vad man faktiskt gjort under en specifik tidsperiod. Mediebarometern utgår från gårdagen som tidsen­het för mediekonsumtionen. Frågorna avser exempelvis om man under föregående dag läste någon dagstidning, om man tittade på rörlig bild eller lyssnade på musik. Först därefter ställs vidare frågor om vilken plattform intervjupersonen använt, t.ex. en tryckt tidning, en vanlig tv-­apparat eller någon hemsida.

Datasetet består av svarsdata från Mediebarometern 2023 i form av en SPSS-datafil försedd med variabel- och värdeetiketter.
Frågeformuläret till Mediebarometern 2023 bestod av 54 medierelaterade frågor fördelade på
fyra områden: 1) Tillgång till olika medier och medietekniker, 2) Användning av olika medier
och medieinnehåll under gårdagen (alt. senaste veckan/månaden), 3) Användningstid för olika
medier, samt 4) Konsumtion av nyheter i olika medier. Formuläret avslutades med åtta frågor
om svarspersonens bakgrund och boendesituation. Ett antal av dessa frågor ställdes bara
till personer som var äldre än 17 år under undersökningsåret. Det gällde frågor om sysselsättning, inkomst och utbildningsnivå. Samtliga frågor i formuläret hade fasta svarsalternativ.</description>
