Each stream was equipped with a miniDOT (Precision Measurement Engineering Inc., USA) to record dissolved oxygen. Metabolism was estimated using the single-station diel oxygen method approach where gross primary production (GPP) and Ecosystem Respiration (ER) was estimated using Bayesian inverse modelling.
