Dataset: Cultures of humanities publishing: Introducing the PACE-index to understand diversity and conformity in scholarly communication

This dataset is a supplement to the article "Cultures of humanities publishing: Introducing the PACE-index to understand diversity and conformity in scholarly communication". The dataset is based on the content of the Swepub database as of March 2025. The dataset was downloaded with the help interactive Swepub GUI (https://bibliometri.swepub.kb.se/bibliometricsÖppnas i en ny tabb) and contains some basic metadata about each scientific publications in the database which was published between 2004 and 2023 according to the publication year filter. The dataset contains only peer-reviewed and other academic scientific publications ("content_marking" is "ref" or "vet") and only publications which had at least one subject field shown at the finest 5-digit level ("five_digit_topics"). Artistic, popular scientific and other non-scientific outputs are excluded.
