Cognitive performance after chronic fatigue syndrome - Follow up of patients with previous chronic fatigue syndrome
45 patients with previous chronic fatigue syndrome were followed up for 1.5 years. Neuropsychological examination, cortisol concentration in the saliva over the day, dexamethasone suppression test and self-ratings of cognitive problems was conducted.
Purpose:
To investigate whether recovery after fatigue syndrome is associated with improved cognitive function and whether such improvement is related to changes in hypothalamic-pituitary-axix (HPA), activity and return to work.
