Risk assessment of alien taxa in Sweden 2024
https://doi.org/10.15468/APNP2Q
List of risk assessed taxa known to have been introduced to Sweden, or taxa that could be introduced, and for which the risk for invasiveness was assessed as ‘Very high risk’, ‘High risk’ or ‘Potentially high risk’ according to the analyses made 2023-2024 through the risk assessment method GEIAA (Generic Ecological Impact Assessment of Alien species), developed by the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre. The results presented are estimates of ecological impact and invasion potential, as well as risk class and outcome criteria. This list replaces the previous results published in the Risk assessment of alien taxa in Sweden 2018 (https://doi.org/10.15468/yrayvwÖppnas i en ny tabb).
SLU Artdatabanken (Swedish Species Information Centre) has led the work on risk assessment and producing a new risk list on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management. A total of 5589 species were assessed, of these, 1968 proceeded to an in-depth assessment, and of these, 1622 have been risk-classified.
