Catch of currant pests (Lamporna capitella, Euhyponomeutoides albithoracellus and Synanthedon tipuliformis) in pheromone traps in Sweden, Norway and Finland 2021-2023

Data describe catches of male moths in traps baited with species-specific sex pheromones. Three species of black currant pests in Sweden, Norway and Finland were investigated: Lamporna capitella, Euhyponomeutoides albithoracellus and Synanthedon tipuliformis. Data show total weekly catches of males in four traps per field. NA indicates weeks when traps were not listed and checked.

Catch of male moths using traps baited with the female-produced sex pheromone.
The sex pheromone of Lampronia capitella included (Z,Z)-9,11-tetradecadienol (72%) + (Z,Z)-9,11-tetradecadienyl acetate (19%) + (Z,Z)-9,11-tetradecadienal (13%).
The sex pheromone of Euhyponomeutoides albithoracellus included (Z)-tetradecenyl acetate (50%) + (E)-tetradecenyl acetate (50%).
The sex pheromone of Synanthedon tipuliformis included (E,Z)-2,13-octadecadienyl acetate (97%) + (E,Z)-3,13-octadecadienyl acetate (3%).

A plastic delta trap (CAPTA, Biobasiq) with sticky insert was used. The pheromone lure (rubber septum) was attached to the inside of the trap using a needle.
