Description of the mode of collection:
Ground vegetation surveys were conducted within 1 m quadrats situated along in the center of the experimental treatment plots. Ground vegetation (vascular and non-vascular plants) were identified into species and their abundances were recorded.
Time period(s) for data collection:
2022-06 - 2022-10

Description of the mode of collection:
Data on large wood (LW) were recorded in each plot of the 6 experimental sites in June 2022. In each plot, we recorded all pieces of LW and assign them species, size (length and diameter), decomposition status, and location (ground, in water, standing, suspended). All pieces of LW that clearly originated within the plot were recorded.

Description of the mode of collection:
The microclimate data collection was carried out using data loggers. For soil temperature and moisture, we used TOMST Dataloggers TMS, for near-ground (40 cm above ground) temperature and light intensity we used HOBO pendant loggers (UA-002-64) and for air humidity and temperature at breast height (1.3 m above ground) we used Lascar loggers (EL-USB-1). Loggers were placed in the center of each investiagated riparian plot (4 plots per site). The loggers were set to record hourly (HOBO) and 15-min (TOMRS and Lascar) measurements from June until October 2022.
