Description of the mode of collection:
Leaves and needles were collected from a minimum of three trees per species in several sites in the Gothenburg Region, south-west Sweden. They were dried and grinded. Then they were analysed for the content of mercury and nitrogen. In addition a fraction of the collected leaves/needles were used to determine leaf mass (dry weight) per area (LMA).
