Description of sampling:
The Media Barometer aims to describe the Swedish population’s use of and access to various media. By “population,” this refers to all individuals aged 9 to 85 who are registered residents in Sweden, regardless of citizenship. A sampling frame of 120,000 randomly selected individuals has been drawn from the Swedish Tax Agency’s register service, Navet, for the first part of the data collection period (starting at the end of January) and the second part (starting at the end of August). Different segments of the population have varying tendencies to respond to surveys. The difference in response rates between different groups has increased over time. To ensure a robust response base across various population groups, a stratified sampling method has been used. The sample has been stratified by gender, age, and place of residence. This means that the sample size for certain subgroups of the population has been scaled up, while others have been scaled down. This may introduce some uncertainty in the accuracy of responses to questions where there are larger differences within the population, such as between different generations.
