Images of Ticks Submitted to the Swedish Veterinary Agency During 2023

This dataset contains all verified reports of tick sightings with corresponding images reported by the public to the "Rapportera Fästing" platform (https://rapporterafasting.sva.seOpens in a new tab) during 2023 (starting in May when the platform was launched). The platform is developed and maintained by the Swedish Veterinary Agency (SVA) within the scope of the European project IDAlert (https://idalertproject.euOpens in a new tab). The dataset is provided by SVA and is licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0Opens in a new tab). The dataset includes two files: ticks_2023.zip, which contains the tick image files, and ticks_2023.csv, which contains metadata about each report. Note that the verification is done on report level, and thus all images may not necessarily contain ticks, but at least one image per report has been verified as a tick by experts at SVA. The dataset contains 15,168 unique images from 12,154 reports.

Infectious Disease decision-support tools and Alert systems to build climate Resilience to emerging health Threats

Funding information:

There’s a real risk of climate-induced disease. Climate change is a driver (one of many) of recurrent outbreaks. Policymakers and decision-makers need tailored information and early warning and impact assessment. In this context, the EU-funded IDAlert project will explore the emergence and transmission of zoonotic pathogens by developing novel indicators, innovative early warning systems and tools for decision-makers. The project will co-create novel policy-relevant Europe-wide indicators that track past, present, and future climate-induced disease risk across hazard, exposure, and vulnerability domains at the animal, human and environment interface. The findings will pave the way for long-lasting impacts on EU climate policy and provide new tools for the European Green Deal.
