CHARMEC 2022 Temperature data from tread braking tests
https://doi.org/10.71870/q91s-sn17
Temperature data from tread braking tests performed using CHARMEC's tread braking test rig during 2022. Data is given as matrices and vectors of temperature and time data from the tests and are gathered from both thermal camera measurements and the built-in DAQ.
The CHARMEC (Chalmers Railway Mechanics) full-scale railway brake test rig evaluates the thermomechanical behavior, temperatures, and structural stresses of tread-braked railway wheels. It subjects full-size freight and passenger wheels to prolonged drag and stop braking loads to analyze high-temperature generation, uneven thermal distortion, and material fatigue.
