List of Restricted Access Species In Sweden
https://doi.org/10.15468/JWBTSB
The list of restricted access species is the current list of species regarded as sensitive to and requiring protection from human interference for a variety of reasons. Determination of sensitivity and listing of species is intended to reduce the risk of threats associated with the publication of the locations of the most sensitive and vulnerable species at national level. The sensitivity of a species is determined based on current threats relating to risk and impact of harm. For each species a decision is made on the category of sensitivity, and the level of generalization for the release of the data. Access to records of the listed species is restricted i.e. details like exact location, date, name of observer etc. are hidden from public view. The exact geographical coordinates of the recorded location are obfuscated at a scale corresponding to the sensitivity category (5 km, 25 km or 50 km). The only open data is information on the obfuscated positions i.e. grid cells of a gridded map with grid size according to sensitivity category. Determination of species’ sensitivity and sensitivity category is updated approximately every 5 years.
