Population:
The population consists of passengers and other individuals present on subway platforms in the Stockholm metro system during the study period. Analytic results refer to aggregated patterns of human presence and movement within predefined areas of the platforms at the minutes when observations were recorded. The population is defined at the level of platform usage events rather than identifiable persons, and includes all platform users present at the included stations during times when data were collected, regardless of age, gender, or travel purpose.
Time method:
Sampling procedure:
Description of sampling:
The sample consists of continuous observational data from four selected subway platforms at three stations in the Stockholm metro system during the study period. All detectable platform usage events occurring within predefined camera zones during this time were included. Sampling is therefore exhaustive within the chosen locations and time span, with observations defined by time and place rather than by individual selection. The data represent repeated observations of platform use at the selected sites and is not representative sample of metro passengers as a whole.

Description of the mode of collection:
The data were collected through the automated camera system within the Stockholm metro. Passenger presence on platforms was recorded using existing security camera systems combined with video analytic software that automatically detected and time stamped human presence within predefined spatial zones. In parallel, aggregated counts of entries and exits were generated by the stations’ ticket gate systems. Environmental light conditions were obtained from an outdoor monitoring station providing time stamped measurements of solar irradiance. All data were generated continuously during the study period without any direct interaction with individuals.

Geographic coverage
Geographic coverage
Geographic location:
Geographic description:
The data cover selected locations within the Stockholm metro system in Stockholm County, Sweden. Observations were collected at three subway stations, comprising four specific platforms. All data relate to indoor platform areas within these stations. In addition, environmental light data originate from a fixed outdoor monitoring station located in the Stockholm area and are used to contextualise local ambient light conditions corresponding to the same geographic region.
