The catalogue of pointed and edged slate tools in southern and central Sweden is called Slatetools, originally published as part of the PhD thesis "The allure of the exotic: The social use of non-local raw materials during the Stone Age in Sweden".
This catalogue is based on an examination of the main archaeological collections and a few minor collections in the area. SHM’s catalogues of external collections held by various institutions has also been consulted. However, the corresponding catalogue of collections held by private individuals has not been checked. There follows a county-by-county description of how the material has been assembled. A list of abbreviations used in this introduction to the catalogue will be found at the end of the chapter.
The dataset contains a MS Access database and a CSV version with tif images separate.
