This survey forms part of the project 'Publicistisk sed'. The questions are divided into six blocks: employment, professional role and professional regulations; mass media consumption and opinion of media´s news cover; view of mass media and the community; media's mission in the community; view of press ethical rules; background. This survey has been followed up in 1994, 1995, 2000 and in 2005.

To shed light on journalists' perception of themselves, their professional role, work situation and press rules
