Catalogue

The research data catalogue on Researchdata.se contains descriptions of research data from various subject areas and disciplines. It is continuously developed and updated with new resources.

The catalogue aggregates metadata from multiple repositories and portals to provide a comprehensive overview of available Swedish research data. In addition to metadata from organizations actively collaborating on Researchdata.seOpens in a new tab, the catalogue also includes resources from several other sources, where information is retrieved by harvesting machine-readable metadata.

The catalogue strives for high quality in accordance with the FAIR principlesOpens in a new tab principles and uses established standards to ensure that data are findable, accessible, and as reusable as possible. Since metadata is collected from different sources, there may be variations in how data are documented.

Each catalogue entry contains information on how to access the data. Harvested records always include a link to the source repository, where more detailed information about the data and access conditions can be found. For data described via DORIS (SND's documentation system), data and documentation files are either available for direct download or can be requested via the catalogue entry.

Becoming findable in Researchdata.se

For metadata from other sources to be ingested into Researchdata.se, they must comply with the requirements of DataCite XML or JSON-LD Schema.org. Metadata must also include a free-text description of the dataset and at least one subject term that matches a term in SSIF (Statistics Sweden's Swedish standard classification of research subjects Standard för svensk indelning av forskningsämnen Opens in a new tab).
