https://doi.org/10.5878/ay1a-7t18

The Hälsosam project is an unpublished targeted survey of health and work environmental factors in a group of female professionals in the Municipality of Huddinge (1997-2001). The Occupational health physician in the municipality who considered female employees in the childcare services vulnerable in terms of health initiated the study. The municipal Work Environment Committee (1997) delegated the conduct of the targeted survey to the Occupational Health Care Service (Företagshälsovården). The project is presented in two documents: Hälsosam and Intervention 4. The report consists of more than 100 tables interpreting collected data, which contain working environment and body measurements, blood tests and interviews. The entire occupational group's health and working environment has been described. The surveys were conducted as a Field Work Study (97-09-01) where three nursing teams visited the municipality's schools, preschools and after school centers. 1,162 women with 19 different occupational roles in the childcare sector were examined during personal meetings. During the years, 1997-2001 four different interventions were carried out. 1. Dietary intervention, aimed at the entire occupational group. 2. Three months of Diary-driven exercise, 3. Medical therapy Pravastatin 4. A ten-week Training Program with two methods for weight reduction. The efforts were partly a primary and secondary medical prevention but were also intended to provide a basis for the continued work environment work in the Huddinge Municipality. Contains data for : - Fieldwork (1997) - Survey 1. (1997) and 2. (1998) , 2B. (2000), 288/ 99 Intervention 4. Hälsosam, 3. Questionnaire 3 (3-7) (2000-2001) - Intervention 1: Dietary intervention. Dietary information to the whole population orally and in writing (1997) - Intervention 2. Diary-kept exercise for three months. Targeted to risk group women with BMI 30 and above and women with LDL cholesterol 4.5 and above. (1998). - Intervention 3. Pravachol treatment to risk group LDL cholesterol 4.5 and above (1999-2000). - Intervention 4. A ten-week training program with two methods for weight reduction. Randomized selection to the respective method and time of entry to the program. Risk group: Women with BMI 30 and above. All women with BMI 30 and above were invited to participate in one of two training program aimed at weight reduction. The training includes two different program and the participants are distributed by lot. One program is based on a psycho-educational method and is led by a trained cognitive bait scientist. The second program is led by the occupational doctor in Huddinge Municipality. Initially, the risk group with BMI 30 and above consists of 136 women. In a letter (1999 09 15), 97 women were asked for interest in participating in the intervention. They were randomized (1999 11 02) to the respective program, even the order of entry to the training was randomized. Finally consisted the group that conducted the training of 43 women. According to model Fieldwork (1997), all women were examined before and after the training, six months later, after 12 months and 18 months after completing their education. In addition, as before, an extensive blood test (fasting test) was included. Data consists mostly of questionnaire responses and metrics, in excel, csv, and pdf format. Some data is only available as aggregated values (e.g. averages). For data is project documentation, with tables and figures attached.
