The aim of the project is to provide a clearer picture of what men and women actually did to support themselves in early modern Sweden (approximately 1550 to 1800) and to analyze short- and long term consequences of survival strategies in general and of the gender division of labour in particular.

För inkodning gjordes ett urval ur den tryckta källutgåvan med ett omfång om ca 10 200 ord. Urvalet gjordes manuellt enligt principen mål med längre text än genomsnittligt, dock inte mål som bedömdes behandla enbart ägotvister. Från denna textkorpus har ärenden med uppgift om aktiviteter beskrivna i verbfraser registrerats.
